Flexibility is highly prized when working with when working with musicians...
Mark Colligan joined the staff at Hillsboro First Baptist Church in June of 2004. He and his wife, Liz, moved from Chicago, where Mark had attended graduate school at Moody Bible Institute while he served as Youth & Family Minister at an inner city church for 8 years.
Within the first month of their life in Oregon, Elizabeth was diagnosed with breast cancer. For five incredible years, the Colligans and all of First Baptist Church battled against her illness. It has proven to be a very growing time for our body. In July 2009, Elizabeth ended her struggled and jumped into the arms of our mighty Savior forever. She has been healed and we continue in ours. God is good.
Mark is an wanna-be runner, hiker, backpacker, and total hack at the guitar. Mark has two young sons, Jonah and Max… the three are quite the handful. Currently Mark leads us in our congregational singing as he is seeking the Lord for continued direction in his life.
This August – Mark and his sons are venturing out to West Africa (Cote d’Ivoire) to visit the Ragsdales and dramatically open their lives to what God might be leading them. Mark desires for his sons to see another world and to be there when they do.
You can contact Pastor Mark by email at mark@hfbch.org or call him at (503) 267-3347 just about any time or any place, even if you might have to leave a message.
